I have dabbled in quilting for many years, completing a few baby quilts (although sadly not for my own children), a few wall hangings and 1 bed quilt. All of these were done completely or primarily featuring needle turned applique and hand quilting.
I am now embarking on a piecing quest. My first attempt began over the weekend when I started Bonnie Hunter's 2012 Mystery Quilt, Easy Street. Since I know nothing about this quilt pattern, I decided to "shop my stash" and use some of the fabric I already own. My main fabrics are in the navy, red and hunter green families.

My constant is a delicious chocolate brown and my background fabrics are in the cream and white family.
I started on Sunday and since I am still recovering from a broken right elbow, the initial cutting, piecing and pressing took a toll on my arm. Since pt was on Monday, I completed the remaining 50 4-patch blocks today for a total of 192 units. What I am most proud of is the pinwheeling of the center seams. They really look wonderful and I am happy with the completion of clue #1.
Have even linked my progress along with many others to Bonnie's web page. Check it out here http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2012/11/easy-street-monday-link-up-1.html
Anxiously awaiting clue #2 on Friday! Until then .....
